Turning live ministry services into long-form and social content

Overview

Shawls of Hope Ministries brought me in as a freelance editor. I took their service recordings, including the message, prayer and praise dance, and edited them into long-form videos and captioned vertical clips for social media.

My role

• Editing full services into long-form videos
• Cutting captioned vertical clips for social media
• Choosing the moments, pacing and structure of each piece

The challenge

A single service can run well over an hour. Each one needed a complete long-form version, plus short pieces that hold up on their own in a feed.

Approach

• Edited the message, prayer and praise dance into full long-form videos.
• Pulled the strongest moments from each service into short clips built for social.
• Added bold, word-by-word captions so each clip works with the sound off.

Deliverables

• Long-form service videos
• Praise dance video
• Prayer segment
• Short clips for social media

The work

The first 4 are captioned vertical clips edited for social. Press play to hear them. The rest are excerpts from the long-form service videos.
